Assembly Guide
Most Mobeliving pieces arrive fully assembled or in minimal flat-pack form. Every product page clearly states assembly requirements. This guide covers the general process — always refer to the specific instruction sheet included in your package.
1. Which Items Require Assembly?
- Fully assembled — Sofas, lounge chairs, armchairs, dining chairs, stools, and most accent furniture. Delivered ready to use.
- Minor assembly — Bed frames (attaching headboard and slats), some side tables and shelving (attaching legs or mounting brackets). 15–30 minutes, basic tools only.
- Full flat-pack — Wardrobes, bookshelves, TV units, and some storage pieces. Requires 45–90 minutes and 2 people for larger items.
Assembly requirements are listed prominently on each product page. If in doubt, check before ordering or ask us.
2. Before You Start
- Unbox carefully — cut tape along seams rather than slashing through packaging to avoid scratching surfaces
- Lay all parts on a clean, carpeted or padded floor
- Check the parts list against the instruction sheet — all hardware should be in a sealed bag inside the packaging
- If any parts are missing or damaged, stop and contact us immediately at hello@mobeliving.id before proceeding
- For items requiring 2 people, have your helper present before starting
3. Tools You’ll Need
Most Mobeliving pieces include the necessary Allen key (hex wrench). You may also need:
| Tool | Used for |
|---|---|
| Allen key (hex wrench) — included | Most bolts and cam locks |
| Phillips screwdriver (#2) | Smaller screws, back panels |
| Rubber mallet | Tight-fit dowels and connectors |
| Spirit level | Wardrobes and shelving units |
| Measuring tape | Confirming placement before anchoring |
| Wall anchor kit (if wall-mounting) | Securing tall furniture to wall |
4. General Assembly Process
-
1Identify all components Lay out every part and match them to the numbered diagram in your instruction sheet. Group hardware by type.
-
2Build the main frame first Connect the largest structural pieces. Insert dowels and cam locks — tighten by hand first, then secure with your Allen key. Do not fully tighten until all frame pieces are connected.
-
3Attach secondary components Doors, drawers, shelves, and legs. Check alignment before tightening. Doors and drawers have adjustment screws on the hinges — use them to achieve perfect alignment.
-
4Tighten all fixings Go around all bolts and screws and tighten firmly. Avoid over-tightening on wood — stop when snug.
-
5Wall anchor (if applicable) For wardrobes and tall shelving over 160 cm, always anchor to the wall using the supplied bracket. This is a safety requirement, especially in earthquake-prone regions.
-
6Final check Test drawers, doors, and any moving parts. Check that the piece sits level on the floor. Adjust leg levellers if present.

- Metal & rattan: Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from prolonged moisture.
- Check fixings periodically: Re-tighten bolts every 6–12 months, especially on chairs and tables subject to regular use.
